
Newly established Institution of learning, Raphat College of Education(RACOED), Obaagun, has commenced her maiden 2020/2021 academic session after being approved and accredited by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE).
The much-anticipated resumption of academic programmes in the college was earlier stalled by the lockdown imposed by the government due to the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic. The 100% tuition-free College had decided to begin Normal School Activities (NSA) by March 31st, 2020, but forced to recommence on September 21st, 2020.
In his statement, the Provost of the College, Alhaji Moshood Adekunle, opined that the college has come to stay, saying “it is a dream come true to the management, staff and students of the College”. He affirmed the school’s readiness to deliver excellent educational training to the students, adding that “no stone would be left unturned to impact meaningful Knowledge on them”.
In her comment, the College Registrar, Miss Raimat Hamzat believed that resuming academic activities in the school is an achievement, saying she had been looking forward to it. “it’s a fulfillment and it’s nice to have students around in the school premises”, she beamed.
A student of the College, Moshood Mustapha, relished the fact that ” the school is very standard, because they have intelligent lecturers, and their method of teaching is sound”.
Nafisat Ganiyu, a student also attested to the uniqueness of the school, saying, “I’m very happy to be a student of this school, because the lecturers are OK and other students are friendly.”
Oyewo Tobiloba, Babalola Nofisat and Oyeniyi Hassan applauded the accessibility of the school, while giving kudos to the lecturers for their impact so far. They added that the tuition free opportunity of the school coupled with her serene learning environment endeared them and other students to rate the college above others.
Meanwhile, collection of free application form, students’ registration as well as full time lecture are ongoing in the school. The schedule for the maiden matriculation ceremony of the college according to Director of Works, Mr Mikail Hamzat, would soon be released to the general public.
